I wanted a better way for my own family

WHY I CREATED THIS

I’m Trish, a solo mum of three kids aged 12, 13 and 16.

As my kids got older, I found family life changing in ways I hadn’t quite expected. The way we communicated changed. The way they related to me — and to each other — changed. And once we fell into some negative patterns, it was surprisingly hard to find our way out of them.

I felt like I was always on their backs. They felt like I was always telling them what to do. We weren’t a terrible family. But I didn’t love the culture we were creating at home.

At work, we wouldn’t just keep doing the same thing and hope it got better

THEN I HAD A THOUGHT

In my corporate job, if a team was stuck in unhelpful patterns, we’d make time to step back, talk about what wasn’t working and agree on how we wanted to work together.

I’d facilitated those kinds of conversations with my own team. And one day I wondered: why couldn’t we do something similar as a family?

I went looking for a practical, structured way to do it at home — something that gave everyone a voice and didn’t feel like another lecture from Mum.

I couldn’t find what I was looking for.

So I created The Family Reset.

Want to try a different way?

The Family Reset gives your family a practical structure for stepping out of old patterns, hearing each other and agreeing how you want family life to work.
